Young Living’s Thieves Foaming Hand Soap is great, but what do you do if you run out? Make your own, of course! 🙂 It is quick and easy, and also very economical. I love using Thieves oil in general because of its ability to support the immune system, as well at the great smell (smells like Christmas in a bottle!), which are two perfect reasons to use it to make soap! I keep this mixture in all of my bathrooms and the kitchen, and guests always ask me what kind of soap I have in the bathroom, because it smells so good! For an extra burst of fresh citrus scent, you can also add some orange or lemon oil! Woo hoo! 😀
Thieves Foaming Hand Soap
You will need:
- 1- Foaming soap dispenser bottle (you can buy empty soap dispensers, but I prefer using one of my old Bath & Body Works dispensers that have been cleaned with the label removed. Use Lemon oil to remove the sticky stuff under the label!)
- Unscented, mild Castile Soap (find at Amazon.com, or a health food store like Sprouts)
- Vitamin E oil (optional, this adds moisturizing properties to your soap- find at Amazon.com or health food store)
- Young Living Thieves Essential Oil
In the empty soap dispenser, squeeze about 2 tablespoons of the castile soap. Add 1/2 teaspoon of the Vitamin E oil, if using. Drop 8-10 drops of the Thieves Essential Oil in the dispenser. Swirl the bottle around to mix the soap and oils together. Fill the dispenser the rest of the way with water, leaving a little room at the top to screw on the pump top, as well as for bubbles. Screw on the dispenser top, and shake gently to mix the soap and water. That’s it! From time to time, you may want to gently shake the dispenser as the oils will start to separate and leave you with oil at the bottom of the dispenser.
