Living in Arizona my whole life, you would think I would be smart enough to ALWAYS apply sunscreen before going outside, or reapply after being out for a while. Well, sometimes it just doesn’t happen because I either forgot, or didn’t think I was going to be out that long, or some other lame excuse. Well, later you pay for that mistake, with a nasty, red, annoying and painful sunburn! Lately this has been happening too often, and something needed to be done. I found a great solution that is all-natural, safe for kids, and feels great! Making this After-Sun spray took all of 5 minutes, and that includes rounding up the ingredients! 😛 You will never use plain aloe vera gel again!
After-Sun Soothing Spray
You will need:
- 1- Empty 2-oz spray bottle (perfect use for those travel bottles you never use!)
- Clear, 100% Pure Aloe Vera Gel
- Young Living Lavender Essential Oil
- Distilled or Filtered Water
Add aloe vera gel to the spray bottle until about 2/3 full. Drop about 10 drops of the Lavender Essential Oil into the bottle. Fill the bottle the rest of the way with water, leaving a small space at the top for inserting the spray pump. Screw on the top, and shake, shake, shake! The mixture should be thick, but thin enough to be sprayed.
Apply all over any area that needs soothing, as often as desired. (Avoid spraying near eyes, nose or ears, spray some into your hand and rub on these areas.) For even more cooling, store the bottle in the fridge!
